SAFe for Teams is a course that will teach you how to become a high-performing team member of an Agile Release Train and how to work effectively with other teams. The class will prepare you to take the SAFe 5 Practitioner test and become a certified SAFe 5 Practitioner (SP). SAFe for Teams is a program that allows Lean-Agile team members to get experience as an Agile Team member in a SAFe Agile Release Train (ART). By becoming a SAFe 5 Practitioner, you can master the skills required to be a high-performing team member on an Agile Release Train (ART) and how to interact effectively with other teams (SP). Attendees will get an in-depth understanding of the traits of high-performing Agile Teams, the ART and how it generates value, and what they can do to effectively fulfill their role utilizing Scrum, Kanban, and XP during this two-day session. Participants will also learn how to write stories and break down features, plan and execute Iterations, and participate in a PI Planning event. Finally, attendees will learn about the Continuous Delivery Pipeline, the value of a DevOps culture, how to effectively connect with other teams on the ART, and what it takes to continually improve.

Pre-requisites

Exam & Certification

A SAFe Practitioner (SP) is a Scaled Agile Framework team member who is in charge of implementing Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming in a SAFe context. Planning Program Increments and Iterations, breaking requirements into stories, building incrementally with built-in quality, proving value at the team and program levels, and problem-solving barriers to drive relentless progress are key areas of responsibility. The session will prepare you to take the exam and become a certified SAFe 5 Practitioner (SP). The SAFe for Teams training is the first step toward becoming a SAFe certified professional. Attending the course gives you access to all of the study materials and the exam, therefore this is a prerequisite. It should be noted that taking the course does not guarantee to pass the exam.

The certification format is MCQ-based. After completing the SAFe for Teams course, students can access the exam on the SAFe Community Platform. The candidate has 90 minutes to finish the exam. To pass the exam, the candidate must correctly answer 35 questions out of a total of 45. The candidate must take the certification exam within 30 days of completing the SAFe for Teams course; if the exam is not completed within 30 days, the candidate must reimburse the exam fees. If a candidate fails to pass the exam on the first try, he or she can repeat the exam immediately by paying the $50 retake fee. If the candidate fails on his or her second attempt, he or she must wait 10 days before retaking the exam. The candidate will have to wait 30 days for the fourth attempt.

After passing the exam, the candidate will be awarded the SAFe Practitioner certification, a digital badge to commemorate the achievement, and a one-year subscription to the SAFe Community Platform. A usage guide is also provided to the candidate, as well as access to a vast array of learning resources to assist trained professionals.
