Check the eligibility criteria of PMP

If you have a 4 year graduate degree, then you should have at least 4500 hours of work experience of leading projects or if you have a secondary degree then you are required to have 7500 hours of work experience of leading projects. The third prerequisite is also related to educational qualification. You are required to have at least a total of 35 hours of formal education on project management. This is mandatory for both 4 year graduate degree and secondary degree holder. You can attend PMP certification training online or offline, or workshops related to project management. You should mention the complete details of the trainings, workshops or courses which you have attended. Time to apply for PMP exam

Once you have gone through the entire eligibility criteria and ensured that you have at least the minimum required number of hours for each of the prerequisites, you should go through the PMP Certification application form. The application form should be filled very carefully and honestly so that you are not called for audit and if it is called for the audit process, the process might take 2-3 weeks to get completed. If during audit anything is caught which was false then your PMP Certification application will get rejected, so make sure you do not enter any incorrect information.

Once your application is approved you can prepare for PMP exam within 30 days as well. Your next step should be to prepare a study plan which should include at least 2 hours of regular study every day. Go through PMBOK Guide -A Guide to the Project Management Book of Knowledge (latest edition as on the PMI site) and PMI recommended prep-books. Take online training sessions, practice different types of questions, learn the project management terminology present in the Glossary of PMBOK Guide for better understanding of the questions, learn the formulae by heart, try to memorize PMP processes.
